Not only you want to lose weight and fit that bikini this summer. You want to do it a healthy way, so you are lean, sexy and healthy at the same time. Here are healthy foods that will keep your heart and veins healthy and you can stay slim.

1.       Fish is no surprise number one in healthy foods. Salmon, tuna or sardines are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids. These fats are good for your heart; they decrease bad cholesterol (LDL) and increase level of good cholesterol (HDL). They also help lower your blood pressure. Most fish are also low in calories, especially when baked or grilled.

2.       Beans- any kind. They have a lot of soluble fiber that lowers bad cholesterol level. Try to eat up to 10 grams of soluble fiber every day.

3.       Oats- also contain lots of soluble fiber and help lower bad cholesterol.

4.       Skim milk and yogurt are full of calcium and contain fewer calories that whole milk. Calcium is not only necessary for strong, healthy bones but also keeps your heart beating regularly.

5.       Berries are packed with fiber, antioxidants and phytonutrients. Your heart just loves berries.

6.       Walnuts are full of Omega 3 and they just taste wonderful. Don’t go nuts with walnuts though, they’re full of calories too.

7.       Flaxseeds are a great source of Omega 3 and soluble fiber.

8.       Brussels sprouts are not very popular vegetables, but it’s just because people don’t know how to prepare them. They are packed with soluble fiber, so they are good for your heart and you diet too.

9.       Olive Oil has a lot of calories, so easy on it, but it’s high in monosaturated fat.
